To all those who seek the quiet, far off & wide open landscapes of our country, The Gravel House welcomes you with open arms.

My career as a chef has brought me across the USA, overseas, and into kitchens that I will never forget. Big, small, commercial, in the backcountry; I’ve chased my passion for seasonal foods wherever the duty has called. However, no other kitchen has spoken to me more than the intimate one here in Patagonia, Arizona. I’ve told many guests this before, “A day spent outside with friends that culminates over the stove, a cold beer and a warm meal, is a day that can’t be beat.” No matter the season, the borderland region offers some of the best, most unique outdoor recreation our Nation has to offer. Pair that with incredible year round weather, a vibrant local food movement and regional businesses curating products such as beer & wine, cheeses, meats and other speciality items, and you’ve got one memorable home away from home experience.

Upon your arrival to The Gravel House, walk on over to Red Mountain Foods & purchase fresh produce or local meats for your stay (cash only!). I hope you’ll try one of my favorite Sonoran Borderlands recipes (below) while you’re here!

Cheers from my kitchen to yours!
